The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has commended the Leone Rock Metal Group for its continued dedication to the growth and transformation of football in Sierra Leone, following the signing of a new $180,000 sponsorship deal for the 2025/26 Leone Rock Premier League.

Speaking at the official signing ceremony held at the Bintumani Conference Center in Freetown, President Kamara expressed profound appreciation to Leone Rock for what he described as “a true demonstration of corporate patriotism and trust in the football project under the new SLFA leadership.”

This agreement marks Leone Rock’s third consecutive sponsorship of the country’s premier league, bringing the company’s total investment to over *$400,000. The previous sponsorship amounts were $80,000 in 2023/24, $150,000 in 2024/25, and now $180,000 for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

President Kamara emphasized the significance of such partnerships in advancing not only the sport but also national unity and youth empowerment. “Football is more than just a sport; it is a vehicle for peace, cohesion, and opportunity. Leone Rock’s consistent support goes beyond financial contributions; it fuels dreams, transforms lives, and strengthens the spirit of togetherness among Sierra Leoneans,” he stated.

He further assured that under his administration, every cent of the sponsorship funds would be managed with transparency and accountability to achieve tangible results. “*With my background in Applied Accounting, I remain committed to ensuring that all football resources are efficiently managed and directed toward their intended purposes. Our mission is clear: to build a football ecosystem that inspires confidence, creates opportunities, and leaves a legacy for future generations,” Kamara added.

The signing ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima, Deputy Executive Director of the National Sports Authority, Dr. Abdulrahman Swarray, SLFA Vice President 2, Prince Saquee, Western Area Regional Football Association Chairman, Rev. Philip Buck, Acting General Secretary, Mohamed Benson Baoweh, and Premier League Board Chairman, Osman Tommy, among other distinguished guests.

The Director of General Administration and Human Resources at Leone Rock Metal Group, Director Miller, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting football in Sierra Leone, describing the partnership as a shared vision for national development through sports.

The event concluded with the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the symbolic presentation of the sponsorship cheque to Minister James-Teima, President Kamara, and Chairman Tommy.
