The Sierra Leone U-20 (Shooting Stars) secured a goalless draw against Lone Stars U-20 side at the Samual K. Doe Stadium. Despite their best efforts, the attacking force of Shooting Stars was not enough to provide the required results by putting law ten into action- goal scoring rule.
An encounter which was full with high intensity from either side lacks the merit of goals.
Bhantal’s Mohamed Bangaru and FCFC Abdul K Turay made series of attempts but their best was not enough as their Liberian U-20 counterpart manifested strong defensive performance.
Overall, Shooting stars players displayed great determination coupled with excellent passing skills throughout the 90mins. Capitano Alpha Kabia showed a masterpiece display in the middle of the pack as he performed the Makelele role with class and finesse.
Although the match ended without any goals, the head coach of Shooting Stars Mohamed Lamin Kamara expressed strong optimism as the squad will play Lone Stars three remaining matches.
He believes the team will capitalize on scoring opportunities in those remaining matches. “We will work on goal scoring chances and set pieces during the next trainings,” the Gaffer emphasized.
At the end of the match, Mohammed Fofanah fondly called “Fastest” of Diamond Stars won the man match award for his outstanding and dazzling performance throughout the game.
