Security Guard Remanded Over Alleged Larceny of Le145,500 Property

A 26-year-old security guard, Sampha Koroma, has been remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 on a single charge of larceny by servant, contrary to Section 17(1)(a) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on Tuesday, 28 April 2026, along Wilkinson Road, the accused, who was employed as a security guard by Mohamed Kamara, allegedly stole one generator battery, iron props, and 30 pieces of plywood, all valued at Le145,500, property belonging to Mohamed Kamara.

When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, no plea was taken as the matter is at the committal proceedings stage.

Prosecutor Inspector Kadie M Taylor informed the court that she had served the defendant with copies of the case file and inquiry documents.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Jah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offence. The matter was adjourned to 9 July 2026 for further hearing.
