Pupils from different secondary schools in Pujehun Township and its environs have hailed the Chief Executive of the National Public Procurement Authority ( NPPA) through his academic and humanistic foundation, Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Foundation for his continued commitments and efforts in boosting the Free Quality Education across the country on Saturday 18th March 2023.
Chief Swarray noted that he had deemed it fit to complement President Bio’s key flagship programme to all pupils in Sierra Leone irrespective of their political affiliation, ethnicity and regions, noting that the foundation aims at improving on the eloquence and oratory skills and by extension building the confidence and boldness of pupils in addressing huge public.
“Retired Brigadier President Julius Maada Bio is with the firm belief that despite the manifolds of natural resources that Sierra Leone as a nation can boast of, but without the acquisition of quality education Sierra Leone cannot be a better place to live and it’s against this backdrop that President Bio introduced Free Quality Education in 2018.
The only way Sierra Leone can proud of huge human capital developments is by investing in education” Chief Executive asserted.
The NPPA boss said he is a feminist and he strongly believes that women can contribute to nation building so that Sierra Leone will change the current narrative, adding that as young girls, they should kindly focus on their studies in order to realize your fullest potentials.
Addressing the gathering, the Country Director for the Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Mannah Massaquoi said that he feels very delighted and honored to be in the midst of pupils in Pujehun Township for the second episode; adding that he is here to allay the fears of all competitors and school authorities that the foundation believes in the tenets of objectivity, fairness, unbiasedness and credibility.
He added that the Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Foundation is apparently taking a national flavor and as such the judges are very mindful of their integrity and dignity in dispensing judgements at the end of the quiz and debate competitions.
Mariama Biala, a pupil from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Senior Secondary School,Bandajuma Town, Pujehun District who emerged as the best debater for the second episode of the Ibrahim Brima Swarray’s Academic Trophy said she felt extremely excited in winning the debate ,adding that the competition was very tight and crucial owing to the fact she debated with outstanding speakers. She commended the judges for their impartial judgment.
Speaking to this medium, the best quizzer for this year’s competition, Jahun Kamara a pupil from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Junior Secondary School, Bandajuma Town, Pujehun District disclosed that this is his maiden competition and he felt very honored and grateful to represent his school.
Kamara added that he commended other competitors who gave him tough times from round one to the final round.
