The Minister of Sports, Hon. Augusta James-Teima, and the Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mohamed Alphaka Conteh, have commended the leadership of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) and its partners for undertaking a major cleaning exercise at the Bo Stadium.
The exercise, conducted on September 26, 2026, was led by the RSLAF in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and officers of the Sierra Leone Correctional Service.
According to the Ministry of Sports and the NSA, the exercise demonstrates the strong civil-military relationship in Sierra Leone and the RSLAF’s continued contribution to national development beyond its primary responsibility of protecting the country.
The Ministry and the NSA expressed appreciation for the discipline, professionalism and commitment demonstrated by the personnel throughout the exercise, noting that their intervention has improved the hygiene and safety of the stadium and made the facility more suitable for sporting and other major activities.
The Ministry of Sports and the NSA also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration with the RSLAF and other security institutions to maintain and protect national sporting facilities across the country.
They further commended the Chief of Defence Staff and personnel of the RSLAF, the Inspector General of Police and personnel of the SLP, as well as the Director General and officers of the Sierra Leone Correctional Service, for their contribution to the exercise.
The Bo City and District Councils were also thanked for their collaboration and support during the cleaning exercise.
