Rokel Commercial Bank has donated NLe 30,000 and pledged additional support for venue decoration towards the Second Africa Twins Summit, scheduled for November 20–22, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Freetown.

The donation was announced by the bank’s Managing Director, Dr. Walton Ekundayo Gilpin, during a courtesy visit by a delegation from Twins and Multiple Births Sierra Leone (TMBSL) to the bank’s headquarters in Freetown on November 3, 2026.

The delegation, led by TMBSL President Dr. Kelvin Vincent, briefed the bank’s management on preparations for the summit and appealed for institutional support. The event is expected to bring together twins, triplets, quadruplets, families of multiple births, policymakers, development partners and other stakeholders from across Africa.

Speaking during the engagement, Dr. Vincent expressed appreciation to the bank for granting the delegation the opportunity to present its plans. He explained that the summit seeks to promote the welfare, inclusion, empowerment and recognition of twins and multiple-birth families across the continent.

The summit will be held under the theme, “Twins of Africa Twinning Against Poverty – Promoting Twins Excellence Across the 54 African Nations.”

In his response, Dr. Gilpin commended TMBSL for its initiative and commitment to advancing the welfare of twins and multiple-birth families. He also praised the organization’s efforts to unite stakeholders from across Africa through the summit.

Beyond the NLe 30,000 financial contribution towards the organization of the event, Dr. Gilpin pledged support for the decoration of the summit venue at the Radisson Blu Hotel to enhance its presentation.

The TMBSL delegation welcomed the bank’s support and expressed gratitude to Dr. Gilpin and his management team, noting that the contribution would help strengthen preparations for the summit.

The organization also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a strong relationship with Rokel Commercial Bank, describing the bank’s contribution as an important show of support for social development and the welfare of twins and multiple-birth families in Sierra Leone and across Africa.

The Second Africa Twins Summit is expected to provide a platform for dialogue, networking and collaboration among multiple-birth families, institutions and other stakeholders on issues affecting twins and their families across the continent.
