The Team Leader of the Sierra Leone Paralympic Committee and Teqball, Alhaji Unisa Deen-Kargbo has on the 8th October 2021 arrived safely in Monrovia, Liberia to hold discussions with the Team Leaders of the Liberia Paralympic Committee and Teqball Liberia to enhance strong partnership for technical and academic exchange.
Mr. Sesay is set to start discussions with both parties. He is also expected to meet with key Sports Personalities in Liberia before departure.
According to him the visit to Liberia was initiated during the Paralympic Games in Tokyo so that both countries will design similar development structures and push for the support of the relevant Authorities.
He affirmed that after the meetings both countries will map out strategies for better representation in future games.
In Teqball, both countries will carefully study a proposal for an International Friendly Tournament to keep them in form. Sierra Leone was recently rated 13th in the World Teqball Ranking so definitely want the players to show case their skills outside of the country.
He further that the friendly when approved will console the Five Sierra Leone players who were on the verge of competing at the World Championship in Budapest but prevented by Covid 19.
Executive members of both Paralympic and Teqball Sierra Leone gave their blessings to Alhaji Unisa Sesay before departure. The issue of developing Para Teqball will also be key in the discussion. As a Sports enthusiast Mr. Sesay intends to give morale support to the Sierra Leone under-20 women team that will play against Guinea in Monrovia.
In a brief Telephone conversation he expressed appreciation to the National Olympic committee of Sierra Leone for supporting both the Paralympic and Teqball activities; as they have been their key partners in developing the Sports in Sierra Leone.
