President Bio Attends African Political Alliance Extraordinary Ministerial Conference

His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio is in Lomé, Togo, at the invitation of President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé to participate in the Extraordinary Ministerial Conference of the African Political Alliance (APA).

President Bio is attending the conference in his capacity as Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, reaffirming Sierra Leone’s commitment to regional integration, political dialogue, and collective development across West Africa and the continent.

Addressing the gathering, President Bio reiterated his commitment to the objectives of regional cooperation.

“As Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, I remain dedicated to fostering regional integration for the benefit of our collective interests,” President Bio said.

The Extraordinary Ministerial Conference of the African Political Alliance has brought together Heads of State, ministers, and senior government officials to deliberate on issues of common interest affecting the African continent. The meeting provides an important platform for political dialogue, consultation, and cooperation among member states under the APA framework.

President Bio’s participation, at the invitation of President Gnassingbé, underscores the strong bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Togo, as well as their shared commitment to strengthening regional institutions and promoting African solidarity.

As Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, President Bio has consistently emphasized the importance of regional integration as a catalyst for peace, stability, economic growth, and sustainable development. His remarks in Lomé reinforced the need for African nations to work together in addressing common challenges and advancing the continent’s collective interests.

The conference forms part of the African Political Alliance’s ongoing efforts to deepen political consultation, strengthen cooperation among member states, and promote coordinated responses to regional and continental priorities.

President Bio joined fellow African leaders and other distinguished delegates at the high-level conference hosted in the Togolese capital, reaffirming Sierra Leone’s active role in advancing regional and continental cooperation.
