Police Constable Kamanda has on the 16th September, 2021 testified in a robbery matter between the State Versus Osman Kabia and six other. He said at the resident of Complainant, Matthew Komba during the visitation to the scene they discovered gun and armful implements including crew bars, giant cutters, and cutlasses among others.
All seven accused persons are before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No 1 for Preliminary Investigation on three count charges of conspiracy to commit felony, robbery with Aggravation and wounding contrary to section 20 of the offense against the persons Act of 1861.
According to the charge sheet, it was alleged that on Sunday 20th March 2021, the accused attacked and robbed with gun and armful implements, complainant Matthew Komba properties worth millions of Leones.
Led in evidence by Assistant Superintendent of police Ibrahim Mansaray, he said on Sunday 21st of March 2021, he was on duty with his colleagues when they got intelligence.
He said upon receiving the intelligence, they left for the crime scene at Goderich.
On arrival at the premise of complainant, Matthew Komba they met the doors open and Complainant bound in the toilet. He said they rescued him and he led them to the room which was entirely ransacked.
The police witness said they were on the search when they discovered that one of the accused who was hiding above the celling jumped down and was arrested. He said they took the armful implements found at the premise to the station and first accused to Kingtom hospital for examination and treatment.
Whiles at the hospital, first accused mother said she is ready to explain, adding that her son and others were at the scene since 8pm and later execute their enterprise.
He said his colleagues later informed him that the person that was shot during their intervention has been captured, but later passed away during investigation.
The police witness said after the engagement, he wrote a report and send it to the Criminal Investigation Department to back up their investigation.
At this stage, Magistrate Sahr Kekura adjourned the matter to the 23rd of September 2021 for cross examination.
