Members of the Pentecostal Fellowship Sierra Leone (PFSL) Kono Chapter, along with other Christian organizations in Kono District, concluded a national thirty-day prayer and fasting exercise at a ceremony held at the Clock Tower in Koidu City.
Addressing the worshipers, Pastor Ambassador Sahr Samuel Sam, Chairman of PFSL Kono Chapter, welcomed attendees and expressed gratitude for their participation. He explained that the prayer and fasting initiative was prompted by a prophecy from Bishop His Eminence Archbishop Nicolas Duncan Williams in Ghana, relayed through the national president of PFSL, His Grace, Bishop Akintayo Sam Jolly. The prophecy warned of potential flooding in parts of Sierra Leone, prompting the national call to prayer to mitigate or avert the disaster.
Pastor Sam emphasized the importance of obedience to divine instruction, noting that the thirty-day exercise aimed to either minimize or prevent the prophesied flooding. He thanked the worshipers and fellow clergy for their dedication and reverence for God, which led to a significant turnout at the culmination event held across various chapters nationwide.
The prayer session at the Clock Tower featured multiple prayer points: thanksgiving, repentance, seeking God’s mercy on Sierra Leone, praying for the nation’s salvation and evangelization, divine intervention to prevent floods, and protection against occultic operations. Additionally, prayers were offered against the kush epidemic, for the peace, security, development, and prosperity of the nation, and for unity and blessings within the church and the country.
The national prayer and fasting exercise, observed simultaneously across the country, highlighted the collective faith and commitment of Sierra Leone’s Christian community to seek divine intervention for the nation’s challenges.
