In a recent oversight visit to Horse Fishing Company, chaired by Hon. Neneh Lebbie, President of the Parliamentary Female Caucus in Parliament, significant praise was heaped upon the ongoing infrastructural and administrative development within the company.
Previously, during annual visits, the company’s state was described as deplorable, lacking hygiene and sanitation accommodations. However, the current management, under the leadership of Managing Director Hossam Elkhawaga and General Manager Charles Martin Bio, has spearheaded a substantial transformation, earning accolades from the oversight committee.
The committee commended the company for its improvements in hygiene and sanitation, noting significant progress since their last visit in 2022. HR Manager Sundu Konomanyi attributed the turnaround to rigorous efforts by the management, contrasting it with decades of neglect and mismanagement.
General Manager Charles Martin Bio showcased plans for a Five-Story Multi-Purpose Building, highlighting the company’s commitment to modernization and expansion. Bio also appealed to the committee for assistance in facilitating the arrival of two vessels from Conakry, Guinea, by the end of February 2024.
During discussions, Country Director Hossam Elkhawaga highlighted challenges faced in rebranding a company on the brink of collapse due to poor management. He emphasized the need for expansion, particularly in acquiring additional land.
Elkhawaga expressed gratitude to the Parliamentary Committee for their visit, sharing the management’s vision for the company and outlining future activities to be undertaken.
The visit signifies a turning point for Horse Fishing Company, as it continues its journey towards revitalization and sustainable growth under proactive management.
