In a surprising turn of events during match week 12 of the Leone Rock Premier League, Star Sport Academy FC suffered their first defeat of the season, falling 2-0 to Old Edwardians FC. Jusu Kanja and Daniel Karim scored the decisive goals, securing a vital victory for the home side.
The match began with high intensity, with both teams pressing aggressively. However, Old Edwardians capitalized on two defensive errors from Star Sport to net the crucial goals, handing the league leaders their first loss of the campaign.
Meanwhile, at the Bo Coronation Field, Bo Rangers FC ended a four-match winless streak thanks to a second-half goal by Saidu Bah Kamara, giving the team a much-needed boost in confidence and league points.
Kamboi Eagles Climb to Eighth
Kamboi Eagles delivered an impressive performance at Kenema City Field, securing a crucial win over Abacha City and moving up to 8th position in the league table after 12 matches.
After a challenging start to the season, the Eagles now boast a record of 5 wins, 1 draw, and 6 defeats, demonstrating steady improvement. Once as low as 16th place, the team is now only 7 points behind the league leaders, 2 points shy of breaking into the top five, and 5 points clear of the relegation zone.
The victory showcased Kamboi Eagles’ resilience, tactical discipline, and attacking confidence, sending a strong message to their league rivals.
The Leone Rock Premier League continues tomorrow, with Bai Bureh Warrior FC facing Wilberforce Strikers FC at the Port Loko Field, while Bullum Stars FC will host Diamond Stars FC at the Approved Schools Playing Field.
