New NSA Executive Director Pays Courtesy Visit to Sports Minister

The newly appointed Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mohamed K. Conteh, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima, at her Bishop House Office in Freetown.

The visit marked Mr. Conteh’s first official engagement with the Minister since assuming office and focused on strengthening institutional collaboration between the Ministry of Sports and the NSA. Discussions centred on sensitive and strategic issues aimed at fostering stability, cooperation, and a productive working relationship between the two bodies; considered critical to achieving their shared vision for sports development across Sierra Leone.

Mr. Conteh assured the Minister of his unwavering support and commitment to working collaboratively with the Ministry to ensure success in their respective mandates. He emphasized the importance of unity and coordinated efforts in advancing sports development and improving the performance of the various associations under their supervision.

In her response, Minister James-Teima expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of respect and professionalism. She warmly welcomed the new NSA Executive Director and reaffirmed her readiness to work closely with him in driving the growth of sports in the country.

She further assured Mr. Conteh of her open-door policy, encouraging continuous dialogue, constructive engagement, and shared decision-making in addressing challenges within the sector. The Minister reiterated her commitment to positioning sports as a force to be reckoned with, both nationally and internationally.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing optimism about a renewed partnership that will enhance sports governance and development in Sierra Leone.
