MINISTRY OF CULTURAL ROMANCES WITH CULTURAL GROUPS IN BO

The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has on Monday 20″the September this year, held a general meeting with twenty   cultural groups in the southern region, and a seven man executive.The essece of the meeting held at the provincial Secretary’s office Tikonko road is geared towards promoting culture.

The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs mandated southern cultural development association (SCUBA-Bo) to elect the seven man executives headed by Madam Frances Mummy Jabati as the Regional Cultural Coordinator south to oversee all cultural activities in the southern region.

Delivering his keynote address, the retired chairman of southern cultural development association, Ibrahim Conteh, confirmed in the meeting that cultural affairs and its activities have not been existing due to the outbreak of COVID 19 in the country.

 He told members of the group to work hands in glove to support and accept the development of culture in the country, noting that societies can hardly exist without culture.

In her maiden speech, the newly elected Regional Coordinator for the Southern cultural development association, Madam Frances Mummy Jabati, said that she will not disappoint the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs and SCUBA in the south .She said that culture has ever been part of her since birth.

Madam  Jabati stated that  she is hundred percent ready to abide by all cultural ethnic and esoteric groups in the south and the country as a whole with the support of his excellence Dr. Julius Maada Bio and the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Mrs Fatima Maada Jabbie Bio and all paramount chiefs because they are the custodian of their respective chiefdoms.

She encouraged the civil society organizations, line ministries, department and agencies secret societal heads, traditional healers, religious leaders, media houses to support and promote the southern regional cultural development associations for the deepening of cultural heritage.
