Mercy Hospital in collaboration with Codix Health Care Sierra Leone has conducted free sugar and blood pressure screening on more than 150 diabetes and hypertensive patients in the Bo district.

Mercy Hospital is a faith-based organization which came into existence in October 2007 to provide quality Health care service for the residents and the Country at affordable cost.

The free sugar and blood pressure screening conducted on hypertensive patients according to Dr. Aruna Stevens said they came together to render free medical care service to raise awareness on their health conditions and to make avail opportunities at their doorsteps before the situation gets out of control.

Dr. Stevens intimated to our correspondent that diabetes machines with enough steep are now available at the hospital which diabetic patients can afford at a minimal cost. He further disclosed that plans were underway to have more sophisticated machines to ensure they provide quality health care service to all and sundry.

He assured patients of access to surgical care, trained and qualified health care practitioners, a quality care system with a descent environment, free nutritional care supplement to children and free medication to (55) fifty-five selected villages in Bo and its environs Autra sound scan and Unique and updated clinical lab are some of the readily available facilities at the aforesaid hospital patents easily access.

 He thanked staff and donor partners for working together all this while which has greatly contributed to the successes they have recorded.
