Brima Kallon, a middle-aged man from Pujehun town, is currently in critical condition after being severely beaten by farmers. Kallon, who has been identified as a notorious pedophile, was caught in the act of sexually penetrating a seven-year-old girl. The victim’s identity has been withheld for her protection.
According to eyewitness reports, Kallon was apprehended by community members and handed over to police officers. While being transported to the Pujehun police station, Kallon, along with a community youth and a police officer, attempted to escape by jumping off the motorbike they were riding.
Kallon fled into a nearby bush, where he was pursued and attacked by local farmers who mistook him for a dangerous criminal. The assault left him with multiple serious injuries. He was subsequently admitted to the Pujehun Government Hospital, where he remains in critical condition, hovering between life and death.
Police officials are awaiting Kallon’s recovery to continue their investigation into the alleged sexual assault. The incident has sparked outrage and concern within the community, highlighting ongoing issues of child protection and justice enforcement in the region.
Authorities are calling for calm and cooperation as they work to ensure that justice is served for the young victim and that proper procedures are followed in handling the accused.
