Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 has refused bail to 18-year-old Alimamy Bangura, who is facing allegations of house breaking and larceny contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act, 1916.
Bangura was brought before the court after he was accused of breaking into the dwelling house of Sarah Tarawalie at No. 23 Carlton Carew Road, off Wilkinson Road, Western Area, Freetown, with intent to steal.
According to the particulars of the offence, the alleged incident occurred on June 2, 2026. The prosecution alleged that Bangura stole Le35, 000, £40, Le1,328 and other assorted items belonging to Tarawalie, with the total value of the alleged stolen property put at Le58,031.
When the charge was read and explained to Bangura, no plea was taken, as the matter is before the court for committal proceedings.
The prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh, informed the court that he had served Bangura with copies of the case file and inquiry file.
Bangura acknowledged receipt of the documents.
Following the proceedings, Magistrate Fornah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the alleged offence, and ordered that Bangura remain at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown.
The matter has been adjourned to September 29, 2026, for further proceedings.
