Lands Minister Dr. Turad Senesie has tabled two regulatory instruments in Parliament aimed at strengthening country planning and land registration in Sierra Leone.
The instruments, tabled on October 16, 2026, are the National Country Planning Regulations, 2026, and the National Land Commission (Land Registration) Regulations, 2026.
The regulations are designed to give effect to the National Country Planning Act, 2025, and the National Land Commission Act by establishing the frameworks needed to implement key provisions of the two laws.
Their tabling is expected to provide clearer procedures for country planning and land registration, supporting more organised planning processes and improving the administration of land resources.
The regulations also aim to promote transparency and accountability in land governance by setting out guidelines for managing planning and registration processes.
Effective implementation of the regulations will be crucial to translating the provisions of the two laws into practical systems for land administration across Sierra Leone.
