Luawa FC secured a crucial 1-0 away win over Bhantal FC on Sunday, 24th May 2026 at the SLFA Academy, with a stoppage-time strike that lifted the Cacao Boys out of the relegation zone.
Bhantal FC, runners-up in the last two seasons and currently seventh in the table, hosted a Luawa side fighting for survival after four consecutive years in the Leone Rock Premier League.
The first half was played at a high tempo, with both teams showing urgency. Bhantal created several promising chances and looked the more dangerous side, but they were unable to convert. Luawa defended resolutely, and the teams went into halftime level at 0-0.
The game remained evenly balanced after the break until the final minutes. In the 90+2nd minute, substitute Abdul S. Kamara produced a moment of quality, beating his marker with a sharp dribble before slotting past the Bhantal goalkeeper to snatch the winner.
Kamara’s late goal earned Luawa FC three vital points, moving them up to 14th place and out of the relegation zone.

Bo Rangers beat Port Authority 2-0 to go 10 Points clear
League leaders Bo Rangers continued their march toward the title with a convincing 2-0 win over Port Authority on Sunday, 24th May at the Southern Arena, extending their lead at the top of the Leone Rock Premier League table to 10 points.
The Elephants made a fast start and took the lead in the 13th minute through a Port Authority own goal by defender David Godswill. The early breakthrough lifted the home crowd and gave Bo Rangers full control of the contest.
Despite Port Authority’s attempts to respond, the hosts stayed organized and dangerous in attack. Bo Rangers created several chances in the first half while keeping the visitors quiet at the other end.
Four minutes after the restart, Bo Rangers doubled their advantage in style. Captain Saidu Bah Kamara struck a brilliant long-range effort in the 49th minute that left the Port Authority goalkeeper with no chance. His dominant display in midfield and decisive goal earned him the Man of the Match award.
Port Authority’s task became harder when Mohamed Bangura was sent off for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity, reducing the visitors to 10 men. The red card ended any hopes of a comeback, and Bo Rangers managed the game comfortably to the final whistle.
One of the main talking points was the absence of former Bo Rangers striker Musa N. Kamara, popularly known as “Tombo.” The ex-league top scorer was named in Port Authority’s 21-man squad but did not feature, leaving many traveling fans disappointed.
The win strengthens Bo Rangers’ grip on the title race. Their lead grew further after second-placed Star Sport Academy dropped points away to Bai Bureh Warriors in Port Loko.
With only a few matches remaining, Bo Rangers are showing the consistency, discipline, and determination of champions as they edge closer to another league trophy under coach Alhaji Foray, popularly known as Coach Abedi.
At the Approved Schools playing field, East End Lions Edge Wusum Stars in Dramatic 3-2 Match week 28 Thriller
East End Lions and Wusum Stars produced a thrilling showdown in their Matchweek 28 encounter at the Approved School field. Wusum Stars had won the reverse fixture 2-1 at the Wusum Field in Makeni earlier in January.
The first half ended goalless after an intense and evenly contested opening period. Both sides created clear scoring opportunities, but resolute defending and poor finishing kept the scoreline blank as the teams headed into the dressing room.
The second half burst into life almost immediately. Wusum Stars broke the deadlock in the 47th minute through Alie Foday Kabia. The visitors came close to doubling their lead, but East End Lions’ defence stood firm. Alusine Dumbuya restored parity for the hosts in the 67th minute, before Idrissa Sesay assisted by goalkeeper Abu Bakarr Kamara, put East End Lions in front in the 72nd minute.
Abdulrahman Barrie equalised for Wusum Stars in the 87th minute, setting up a tense finale. However, Mohamed Fogbawa struck deep in stoppage time (90+3′) to snatch a dramatic 3-2 victory for East End Lions.
The win lifted East End Lions to 40 points and 6th position on the league table, their highest standing of the season.
East End Lions will next face SLIFA FC in Matchweek 29 at the SLFA Academy on Friday, while Wusum Stars host Bhantal FC on Wednesday at the Wusum Field in Makeni.
