A carpenter, Ballah Koroma, has been remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 over an alleged theft involving property belonging to the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), valued at NLe5, 450.

Koroma was charged with one count of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at A.J. Momoh Street, Tower Hill, Freetown, the defendant allegedly stole one chair, one LED light, one iVision bullet CCTV camera and other assorted items, all valued at NLe5,450 and belonging to IPAM.

When the charge was read and explained to him, Koroma pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Kadie Taylor, informed the court that she had served the defendant with a copy of the case and inquiry file.

Koroma, who was not legally represented, acknowledged receipt of the documents.

Magistrate Jah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the alleged offence, and remanded the defendant at the Male Correctional Facility.

The matter was adjourned to October 20, 2026, for further hearing.
