Minister of Information and Civic Education, Hon. Chernor Bah, has welcomed a delegation from Malawi to Sierra Leone for a 10-day knowledge exchange programme focused on civic education, institutional coordination, peacebuilding, local governance and citizen engagement.

Welcoming the delegation at his Youyi Building office on Monday, October 5, 2026, Minister Bah described the visit as an important opportunity for both countries to share experiences, learn from each other and strengthen institutional cooperation.
He said the Chairperson of the National Commission for Civic Education and Development (NaCCED) and the Permanent Secretary would lead and coordinate the engagement, while encouraging the delegation to make the most of their stay in Sierra Leone.
Minister Bah urged the visitors to engage with relevant institutions, exchange ideas and establish partnerships that could continue beyond the 10-day programme.
Reflecting on his own visit to Malawi about 15 years ago, Minister Bah spoke positively about the country and its people, describing Malawians as warm and welcoming, with a strong sense of pride in their nation.
He also encouraged the delegation to go beyond their formal engagements and experience Sierra Leone’s culture and hospitality, including sampling some of the country’s local cuisine.
Minister Bah expressed hope that the exchange would be reciprocal, with Sierra Leone having the opportunity to visit Malawi in the future to further strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries.
