Constituency 030 member of Parliament, Honourable Saa Emerson Lamina who also doubles as the Coalition for Change (C4C) Parliamentary Caucus Leader and Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Mines has launched and turned the sod for the construction of an Ultra-Modern resources centre at Dorma Community in Gbense Chiefdom, Koidu City-Kono District.
The proposed peace centre when completed will consists of Conference room, the Mayor’s Parlour, Canteen, offices among other facilities.
In his keynote address during the launch of the aforesaid construction project in the beneficiary community, Honourable Saa Emerson Lamina said, the establishment of the centre is geared towards promoting peace and Co- existence within the Dorma Community, the District and country as a whole. He revealed that, he got the inspiration of constructing the peace centre upon his visit to Ghana sometimes ago.
While emphasizing on the importance of peace, Hon. Saa Emerson Lamina stressed that, where there is conflict and disunity, development is far-fetched.
He therefore called on all and sundry especially authorities and residents of Dorma to embrace the project, noting upon its completion, it will be used to teach the youths the importance of peace, career building and would be also used by Chiefs , traders and students for similar purposes.
Honourable Lamina further said, the construction project will cost six hundred thousand Dollars ($ 600,000) DACFD support from the Sea wright Mining Company coupled with some amount from his monthly salary and supports from well-wishers.
Expressing his view on behalf of his people and authorities in the Dorma Community and Gbense Chiefdom, the town Chief of Dorma, Chief Sahr Kemoh referred to the launch of the would be resource centre project in his community as a relief and dream come true. He therefore assured Honourable Saa Emerson Lamina of their unflinching commitment in providing local materials and the other needed support for the construction work.
