The Sierra Leone Gymnastics team has officially presented gold medals to the Executive Director of the National Sports Authority Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, today at his 22 New Signal Road office in Freetown.

The team, which won the second Baku Gym For All Challenge held very recently in Azerbaijan, was funded by the government of Sierra Leone through the NSA.

The gymnasts and some of their parents were led to the Executive Director’s office by their dynamic iron lady, Anna Williams, the President of the Sierra Leone Gymnastics Federation were accompanied by Director Victor Hasting Spaine.

Receiving the delegation, Dr. Abdulai congratulated the team and thanked them for representing Sierra Leone with distinction by winning gold medals, pledging the government’s unflinching support towards the development of sports.

In another development NOC-SLE Honours Gymnastics Gold medalists

The victorious Sierra Leone Gymnastics gold medalists were today honoured by the Executive of the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone at their head office at Walpole Street in Freetown.

The team, which won the second Baku Gym For All Challenge held very recently in Azerbaijan, was presented to the NOC by the Federation’s President Anna Williams who was accompanied by other executive members.

The gymnasts were warmly welcomed by the NOC’s executive including the President-Prince Sualley, Idris Massaqoui- the Vice President, the Treasurer- Unisa Deen Kargbo, Victor Amara-Ex-officio, the Secretary General-Joseph Nyande, Commissioner’s Athletes Commission- Faiya James and the President of Sierra Leone Rugby Federation, Jeremiah Moshopeh Pratt.

The NOC’s President was among those who praised the gymnastics team for its contribution towards the Olympic Movement, who felt elated by the performance of the gymnasts in Azerbaijan.

The President Sualley who was in Azerbaijan during that moment said he felt proud and became very popular, revealing the gymnastics team’s huge contribution to the popularization of Sierra Leone in that part of the world through sports among young people and also strengthening cooperation with international structures.
