Freetown City Council Football Club has knocked out the Water front boys Port Authority FC out of the Sierra Leone Football Association Orange FA Cup 2026.

Freetown City FC drew first blood through Yankuba Koroma in the 37th minute, with Ports Authority cancelled out the score in the 86th minute through Mohamed Kargbo to take the game straight to penalties.

Star man Mamadou Chernor Bah in between the sticks for Freetown City FC saved two penalties to send the City boys’ to the round of eight in the Orange FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history.

With this win, Freetown City FC have set up a compelling fixture against one of the country’s oldest and most successful club, Mighty Blackpool in the round of eight.

The champions of the Orange FA Cup will qualify for the second tier of CAF interclub Confederations Cup.

In the other fixtures at the SLFA Academy playing field, Mighty Blackpool FC trash Marampa Stars FC by four goals to one (4-1).

A thrilling encounter Mighty Blackpool FC captized from poor defense errors from Marampa Stars FC as they scored three goals in the first half of play.

The Visitors Marampa Stars FC regroup in the second half and get a goal back, but the host bounce back and scored a goal back to put the match beyond the Visitors.

The Quarter-Final Match of the Orange FA Cup kick-off on May 2nd and 3rd with thrilling matches across the Country as FC Kallon host Bo Rangers FC, while East End Lions FC travel to take on Star Sport Academy FC at the SLFA Academy playing field.
