How a woman dresses does not define the type of woman she is. Some people say ‘you must always judge a book by its cover’ that does not apply in all cases, some books are plain and simple but it has a powerful content inside, some have captivating covers but its content is not worth appetizing.
Because a woman likes to wear skimpy dresses that exposes parts of her body doesn’t mean she is cheap or trying to get the attention of men, a lot of women dress to please themselves, some are raised that way, while others dress according to events and occasions.
There is a saying that ‘you dress how you want to be addressed’ but people are interpreting this saying in a wrong way, this means that a person especially women should know how to dress for certain occasions, for instance you can’t wear a short jeans and with sneakers to a board meeting because it’s an inappropriate outfit for that kind of event, but that doesn’t mean it’s not an appropriate outfit to wear to the beach, or probably a casual night out with friends etc.
So many women dress according to their mood; they express how they feel through their way of dressing. Outfits are more than just clothes they send messages, they expresses ones feelings and emotions and also a person’s personality.
For example many Islamic women put on hijabs as a sign of respect to their maker that is a message, for the Christians they have nuns who are highly religious and they also have their way of dressing to send out that message. Lawyers, doctors, bankers, engineers etc. have a style of dressing that gives out a clue of their respective jobs.
You may think that most of them have double personalities from the way they dress for different occasions. For instance a lawyer might be wearing a suit throughout the week for office as their job demands for them to dress in an official manner for work, but on the weekends she may put on clothes that shows some parts of her body when going out to have fun and relax, does that mean she is irresponsible or is seeking the attention of men or is a loose woman? No! It just means she dresses according to the kind of event she is attending.
Therefore woman’s way of dressing does not have anything to do with her character or modesty. So between women who wears skimpy dresses and the ones who like to cover up their body who commands more respect, both of them do because respect is a personal thing, a woman’s way of dressing has nothing to do with her self-respect.
