High Court Judge, Justice Sulaiman Bah has adjourned the alleged murder criminal trial between the State against Ernest Berewa an N’tuma Mansaray to the 27th of March 2023 for further hearings.
The two separate matters came up for hearing on Wednesday 22nd March 2023, but not proceeded due to absent of one Juror who was said was in another matter before Justice Mohamed Bawah,another High Court Judge sitting in Freetown.
According to Justice Sulaiman Bah, the said Justice Mohamed Bawoh who has a duty post in Makeni has seek indulgence for this week to complete those matters which he has started before his transfer to Makeni.
The absent Juror Hawa Massaquoi is in a panel before the two Judges but in a separate matter.
Both accused a female and male are standing trial at the High court on related murder count charge indictments proffered by the State.
N’tuma Mansaray (Mrs),a mother of one child and a medical nurse attached to the 34 Military Hospital was arrested in the year of 2022 for allegedly killed her legally wedded husband Mamoud Mansaray, a senior Military officer and a medical practitioner attached at the aforementioned hospital at Wilberforce in Freetown.
Ernest Berewa, is the son of popular comedian commonly know as “ Vamboi).
He, the accused Ernest Berewa, a student and a youth in his prime was arrested for killing his male friend and neighbor.
They were investigated by the Sierra Leone Police, and based on the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) they were separately charged to Court on a Preliminary Investigation at the Magistrate Court.
And later committed to the High Court without bail for trial, and they are still on remand attending Court hearings.
Woman senior State Counsel Umu Sumaray is prosecuting on behalf of the State while a private legal practitioner Ismael P. Mamie is defending and representing both accused.
