Cleaner Remanded Over-Alleged Office Breaking and Larceny

A 37-year-old cleaner, Abdul Tarawally, made his first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at the Pademba Road Court No. 1 on a one-count charge of office breaking and larceny, contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on Friday, 3rd to 4th April 2026, at Marrah and Associates Law Firm, Office No. 6, Jones Street, Western Area, Freetown, the accused allegedly broke and entered the office of Maria Kargbo with intent to steal. He is accused of stealing the sum of US$8,100, one “Soul Mate” perfume, and one Dove deodorant perfume, all valued at a total of Le195,020, property belonging to Maria Kargbo.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken.

Prosecutor Inspector Kadie M. Taylor informed the court that she had served the defendant with a copy of the witness statement. The accused acknowledged receipt of the document.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Jah refused bail and ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 1st May 2026.
