Chief Administrator of Pujehun District Declares 2025 a Year for Service Delivery

The newly transferred Chief Administrator of the Pujehun District Council, Joseph T. Gando, has declared 2025 a critical year for improved service delivery in the district. Gando made this declaration while outlining the council’s plans to drive development in Pujehun during an update to this medium.

He emphasised the importance of collaboration between the council and various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to effectively fulfil the council’s mandate. Gando highlighted that successful implementation of tangible projects depends on establishing a sustainable financing mechanism.

When asked about strategies for securing sustainable funding for both ongoing and planned development projects, Gando revealed that the council would focus on maximising revenue generation through local sources. Additionally, he stated that the council plans to engage in project and proposal writing to attract external funding for development initiatives.

Acknowledging the challenges of raising revenue in a district where many residents struggle to pay taxes, Gando stressed the importance of collaboration with local stakeholders. He expressed optimism that working closely with community leaders and other partners would help address these challenges effectively.

Gando outlined his core strategies for achieving the council’s goals, including transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in the management of council operations and funds. He underscored that community participation is crucial for ensuring accountability and delivering impactful services.
