The Bo Integrated Rapid Response Team (IRRT) has achieved significant progress in its fight against Mpox, successfully discharging two patients from the isolation unit at Bo Government Hospital on January 25, 2025. This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication and expertise of the case management team, which has worked tirelessly to ensure the full recovery and wellbeing of the patients.
Following their discharge, the patients were safely reintegrated into their community under strict monitoring protocols managed by the IRRT. This continued surveillance is critical to mitigating any potential risk of the virus spreading and safeguarding public health.
To facilitate the reintegration process, key members of the IRRT, including Mr. Peter Saffa from the Risk Communication Team and Mr. Thomas Luseni, Deputy Surveillance Officer (DSO-2), led the patients back to their community. Their efforts underscore the team’s commitment to both effective communication and preventive measures in containing the virus.
This success highlights the importance of collaboration, vigilance, and community engagement in managing public health emergencies. The IRRT’s proactive approach not only ensures the recovery of affected individuals but also strengthens the region’s overall response capacity to infectious diseases.
