The just concluded Big Brother Titans which brought two African giants -Nigerians and South Africans – under one roof for an entertaining seventy-eight days, saw South African Khosi emerged as the title holder of the maiden Big Brother Titans with US$100,000 grand prize.
The 25-year-old journalist defeated her fellow last-standing housemates Ipeleng, Ebubu Kanaga Jnr, Yvonne and Tsatsii to win the whopping US$100,000 cash prize on Sunday, 2nd April. The finale, which was aired on DSTV Africa Magic, and the streaming platform Showmax, kicked off at precisely 7 p.m. with a mesmerising performance by Mayorkun, who performed his single ‘Certified Loner’ and remix of his hit song ‘Sugarcane’.
Since day one of the show, Khosi had been an outstanding housemate, with her endless drama and entertaining personality. The show, which began on 25th January 2023, featured twelve Nigerians and twelve South Africans for the US$ 100,000 grand prize.
Khosi Twala survived all six weeks of nominations and evictions and went straight to the final among a sextet of housemates. Khosi’s journey in the Big Brother Titans has been dubbed ‘unique’ having survived pairing evictions and additional two individual evictions. Coincidentally, she was the first housemate to be announced on the Big Brother Titans show on the first day of airing.
In a boisterous celebratory style, Khosi was presented with the US$100 000 grand prize and loudly cheered on by the vibrant studio audience, marking the end of an unforgettable maiden edition of Big Brother Titans. The highly anticipated border-breaking Big Brother Titans was a combination of Big Brother Mzansi and Big Brother Naija, featuring twenty-four housemates from both countries.
Khosi is a South African journalist, model, fitness guru, and reality television star popular for appearing on Big Brother Titans. Her real name is Makhosazane Twala. She was born on August 10th, 1997 in Newcastle, Kwa-Zulu Natal Province of South Africa but currently resides and works in Johannesburg.
Khosi is a three-time graduate, having completed her tertiary education at the University of Free State in 2016. She later joined Oakfields College for a degree in Communications Science, and went on to complete her postgraduate studies in 2021 at the University of Johannesburg in Strategic Communication and Media Studies.
The 25-year-old entered Big Brother Titans for two reasons: fame and money. According to her, she needed the fame and money isn’t bad as well. Khosi rose to prominence after appearing in and starring on Season 1 of BBTitans, dubbed “Ziyakhala Wahala”.
Finalists of the Big Brother Titans whom Khosi defeated are 2-year-old Ipeleng, a law student originally from the North West, now in the Gauteng Province of South Africa. Ipeleng has a great sense of humour but also a shy person. She is very close to her parents and has the utmost respect for them.
Tsatsii is also twenty-four, and an engineering, biotechnology, microbiology student. She hails from Pretoria, South Africa. Tsatsii is cerebral and grounded yet equally curious about life. It is an undisputable fact that her brains match her undiluted beauty.
28-year-old Ebubu is an actor and model originally from Anambra State in Nigeria but now lives in Lagos. Ebubu seems to have a dynamic personality and street smart. He is open-minded and interested in the world around and beyond him. Humour, resilience, calm and determination also mark his personality.
Kanaga Jnr. is a 23-year-old model and aspiring actor who hails from Abia State in Nigeria but now resides in Lagos. He is also agile and charming yet candid, expressive and yet calm. He has a boyish charm but looks mature for his age. He is a sensitive young man who loves older women.
The 28-year-old Yvonne also made it into the maiden Big Brother Titans final. She is a model and content creator from Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria but now stays in Lagos. Yvonne was made for the soft life is used to getting what she wants. However, the pastor’s kid is resilient and bold.
Meanwhile, Andra, Jaypee, Jenni O and Marvin represented Nigeria, while Theo Traw, Lukay, Mmeli and Yaya flew the South Africa flag. They were among the eighteen contestants evicted in the first ten weeks of the highly entertaining reality show. Also, Yemi Cregx (Nigeria), Nelisa (South Africa), Juicy Jay (South Africa), Olivia (Nigeria), Nana (Nigeria), Blue Aiva (South Africa) and Miracle Op (Nigeria) were evicted in weeks seven and nine respectively.
The Big Brother Titans season 1 featured several charming and colourful characters that stood out from the rest and made it to the finale.
