Mohamed Moriba, a politician, former military officer, and Southern Province Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the APC party, has again appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown on an alleged charge of incitement contrary to law.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Saturday, 27 December 2025, at Kamalo Village in the Karina Judicial District, North-East Province, the accused allegedly created and circulated audio and video clips containing inciting messages intended to cause mayhem, disorder, chaos, and unrest in the country. The prosecution further alleged that the content was published on a TikTok account named Salone Gossip Hub.
No plea was taken after the charge was read and explained to the accused, as the matter is before the court on committal proceedings.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Dillia Wellington Esq., who is prosecuting the matter, informed the court that the prosecution had led all its witnesses and had closed its case. The matter was subsequently withdrawn for ruling.
Defence counsel, C. Kamara Esq., informed the court that the defence intends to file a no-case submission and requested a short adjournment.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Fornah refused bail and remanded the accused at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 3 June 2026.
