The Local Court Chairman at Court Number two (2) in Yagala town, Wara Wara Yagala Ciefdom, Koinadougu District has reiterated his commitment to better and improve the justice system in Koinadugu district.

According to our correspondent, the court number two (2) chairman of Wara Wara Yagala Chiefdom in Yagala Town who also doubles as the Court Chairmen Association in Koinadugu District, Michael Kalleh Kondeh Mansaray, has recorded frequent reported court cases at the aforementioned court, noting that public insult, molestation, recovery of loans, land disputes among others are some of the cases that the chairman has recorded at the aforementioned court.

Meanwhile, the court is manned by the chairman, the clerk and the working staff of the court number two (2) in Yagala Town.

Alpha Kerran of Bandembaia town was brought to the court by Foday Keita of the same house who reported that the defendant on Monday 19th July, 2021 publicly insulted and molested him and also accused him of being a wizard.

The defendant pleaded not guilty but after series of investigations by the court, he was found guilty of the offence. Furthermore, the defendant was fined Two Hundred Thousand Leones (Le 200,000) and also to pay a compensation of one hundred and fifty thousand Leones (Le 150,000) to the complainant.

In a similar but separate development, Sunkarie Kerran and Gbay Kerran of the same address were summoned at the said court for public insults, molestation and accusing Mrs Keita of being witchcraft on the same date.

The matter was discussed at the chambers of the court chairman because the defendants were teenagers. However, the defendants denied knowledge of the allegations at the first appearance but after several investigations by the court, both pleaded guilty accusing their father of inciting them to commit the crime.

Therefore, both defendants were fined Three Hundred Thousand Leones (Le 300,000) each and their father was again fined one Hundred Thousand Leones (Le 100,000) for incitement.

Notwithstanding, all the convicted persons are currently on bail and the fines levied on them should be paid on the 2nd August, 2021. A-Z multimedia will bring more on this story in our subsequent Publication.
