The New Sembehun City Council (KSCC) Mayor his worship Ambassador Komba Mathew Sam has told this medium that, the Africell Mobile Technology company Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Zaid Dalloul has assured of giving him a permanent solution to the problem of the constructed and un-commissioned clock tower since it was partially completed with the intervention of Her Excellency the first lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Madam Fatima Jabbie Bio.
Mayor Sam made the pronouncement in an interview with A-Z on the provision of the two Russian waste dump trucks with the registration numbers ARZ 018 and ARY 975 by the central government to his council by the local Government Ministry as a boost to the KNSCC Waste Management Department.
The Koidu City father maintained that this is the second time his council has benefitted from waste dump trucks from the Central Government as part of president Bio’s efficient management of the environment which saw the introduction of the first Saturday national cleaning exercise.
During the said Saturday cleaning exercise, mayor Ambassador Komba Mathew Sam said the council was faced with series of challenges in the hiring of commercial vehicles and organizing youth groups to gather piles of garbage to be deposited at strategic locations within the city. He noted that the additional Russian trucks will improve the waste management operations within the municipality of Koidu.
Mayor Sam therefore advised all and sundry to be depositing their wastes in bags and place them at strategic locations so that they can be collected by the city waste management staff.
