The matter involving Mohamed Sonlah, who is facing charges of fraudulent conversion and forgery, has been adjourned by Magistrate John Manson Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown for part payment.

Sonlah was charged with fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20(1)(b) of the Larceny Act, 1916, and forgery of a document, contrary to Section 40(1) of the Forgery Act, 1913.

According to the particulars of the first count, Sonlah allegedly, between July 1 and July 30, 2026, in Freetown, fraudulently converted to his own use and benefit certain property entrusted to him by Allego Mayo Bah for the purpose of clearing two 40-foot containers at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay in Freetown and delivering the said property to Bah.

The second count alleged that Sonlah, sometime in July 2026, in Freetown, with intent to defraud, forged a document purported to be a National Revenue Authority (NRA) Assessment Notice issued by the National Revenue Authority.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Conteh.

When the matter came before the court, both the accused and the complainant were present.

Following the proceedings, Magistrate Fornah adjourned the matter to October 6, 2026, for part payment.

The case remains before the court for further proceedings.
