The Love Flows Empowerment/Unity Forum has donated six 50-kilogramme bags of rice and six jerry cans of palm oil to support vulnerable and street-connected children assisted by SOS Children’s Villages Sierra Leone.
The donation was made on Friday, September 18, 2026, as part of the organization’s humanitarian efforts to support children in need and contribute to their wellbeing.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Sierra Leone, Mr. Periera Dionisio, said no adult should be comfortable knowing that children are going without food and protection.
Mr. Dionisio acknowledged that the challenges facing vulnerable children cannot be solved by one organization alone, but said individuals and organizations can contribute to improving their lives.
He expressed appreciation to the Love Flows Empowerment/Unity Forum for the donation, describing the gesture as valuable support for vulnerable children.
“What Love Flows Empowerment has donated is a lot when we quantify it in terms of money and value,” Mr. Dionisio said.
He noted that SOS Children’s Villages Sierra Leone cannot assist all street-connected children in the country but pledged that the organization would continue doing its best to support children in need.
Mr. Dionisio assured the donors that the donated food items would be used for their intended purpose and expressed hope for continued collaboration between the two organizations.
Chairman of the Love Flows Empowerment/Unity Forum, Mr. Clifford Lansana, said every child has the right to food, proper growth and holistic development.
He commended SOS Children’s Villages Sierra Leone for initiating a pilot project to support street-connected children.
“Street children must not be a burden to adults, but potentials to be unlocked to advance their future and achieve their dreams,” Mr. Lansana said.
He added that investing in vulnerable children is an investment in the future of Sierra Leone and appealed to Sierra Leoneans and well-wishers to join efforts to support children in need.
Speaking on behalf of the Founder and CEO of Love Flows Empowerment/Unity Forum, Mr. Benoni Williams, the organization’s Financial Controller expressed gratitude to SOS Children’s Villages Sierra Leone for its continued collaboration.
Mr. Williams assured the gathering that more initiatives were in the pipeline to support vulnerable children.
“We are determined to embark on fundraising ventures to support our humanitarian ventures,” he said.
The donation forms part of the Unity Forum’s broader humanitarian efforts to support vulnerable children and contribute to their access to basic necessities, including food and care.
