Twenty-eight-year-old unemployed Abdul Bangura made his first appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, on three counts of alleged wounding with intent and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Bangura is facing two counts of wounding with intent, contrary to Sections 18 and 20 of the Offences Against the Person Act, 1816, and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act, 1861.
According to the police charge sheet, it is alleged that on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Ascension Town, Freetown, Bangura maliciously wounded Idrissa Mosima with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
Count two alleged that on the same date and at the same location, Bangura maliciously wounded Mosima.
The third count alleged that Bangura, on the same date and at the same place, assaulted Mosima in a manner that occasioned him actual bodily harm.
When the matter came up in court, Bangura was not present.
Police Constable 18235 Thoranka K.K., who represented the prosecution, informed the court that a prison officer had indicated that efforts to locate the accused had been unsuccessful, although he was believed to be in custody.
Magistrate Fornah subsequently adjourned the matter to September 25, 2026, for further proceedings.
