Two drivers employed by Maripoma Investment Sierra Leone Limited have appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on allegations of conspiracy to commit a felony and larceny by servant.
The accused, 29-year-old Joseph Macfoy and 34-year-old Abdul Rahman Jawara, are facing two counts: conspiracy to commit a felony, to wit larceny by servant, contrary to law, and larceny by servant, contrary to Section 17(1) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Sunday, 8 March 2026, at Hill Station in the Western Area of Freetown, the two accused allegedly conspired with other persons unknown to commit a felony, to wit larceny by servant.
The second count alleged that, on the same date and at the same place, the accused, who were drivers employed by Maripoma Investment Sierra Leone Limited, stole one white Toyota Land Cruiser Hardtop, registration number AYJ 209, valued at €45,969, equivalent to Le1, 185,356.
The vehicle was allegedly in the custody of Dominic Frimpong and belonged to Maripoma Investment Sierra Leone Limited.
When the charges were read and explained to them in court, both accused pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution was represented by Inspector Kadie M. Taylor, who requested a short adjournment to allow a subpoena to be served on an absent witness.
Both accused were present in court during the proceedings.
Magistrate Jah subsequently adjourned the matter to 6 October 2026 for further proceedings.
