Sierra Leone Senior National Team head coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa is set to name a 25-man Leone Stars squad ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Leone Stars will face two crucial encounters this month as they begin their AFCON qualifying campaign, with Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea standing in their way of a strong start to the campaign.

Two months ago, Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Technical Director Christian Dauda Karimu and head coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa travelled to the United Kingdom to engage Sierra Leonean players and encourage them to represent their country.

Reports indicate that several new faces could be included in the squad for the upcoming qualifiers following those engagements.

Sierra Leone will host Zimbabwe in the first leg of the AFCON qualifiers in Morocco on September 21, 2026, before travelling to face Equatorial Guinea in Yaoundé a week later.

Leone Stars are seeking a return to the Africa Cup of Nations after missing out on the last two qualification campaigns. The team will be hoping to secure positive results in the current campaign and return to continental football.

According to reports reaching this medium, the squad is expected to be dominated by foreign-based players, with a few locally based players also included ahead of the two qualifiers.

The Sierra Leone Football Association is scheduled to hold a press conference tomorrow to provide updates on the final squad, training camp and preparations ahead of the qualifiers.
