The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has disbursed the second tranche of its annual financial support to the country’s five Regional Football Associations (RFAs), reaffirming its commitment to strengthening football development at the grassroots level.
Each Regional FA has received US$25,000 under the latest disbursement, bringing the total annual financial support to US$50,000 per region.
The second tranche follows the payment of the first US$25,000 earlier this year.
The increase in annual funding from US$15,000 to US$50,000 per region was approved by the Babadi Kamara-led SLFA Executive Committee as part of efforts to strengthen the capacity of the Regional Football Associations and enhance football development across the country.
The SLFA said the increased financial support is intended to help regional football structures effectively carry out their responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the sustainable growth and development of the sport in Sierra Leone.
The Association has also reaffirmed its commitment to providing the necessary support to regional football structures to improve their operations and promote grassroots football nationwide.
