Magistrate John Manso Fornah of the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 2 in Freetown has remanded a 19-year-old pupil, Augustine Seilolo of Wilberforce Barracks, in custody over allegations of wounding with intent and assault.
According to the prosecution, the alleged incident occurred on 28 July 2026 at Tank Yard, off Presidential Lodge, Hill Station, in the Mountain Rural District.
Seilolo is facing three counts: wounding with intent, wounding, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.
Testifying as Prosecution Witness One (PW1), Steven Bangura told the court that he had known Seilolo for more than five years, as they reside in the same community.
Bangura alleged that on the day in question, they were engaged in transporting sand when Seilolo allegedly provoked and assaulted him, resulting in an injury to his head.
He further told the court that he received seven stitches for the injury and was issued a police medical request form at the police station.
Bangura maintained that Seilolo was responsible for the injury he sustained.
Defense counsel applied for the adoption of a previous bail application on behalf of the accused. However, Magistrate Fornah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offences before the court.
The matter was adjourned to 15 September 2026 for the testimony of Prosecution Witness Two (PW2).
