A 32-year-old bike rider, Ishmael Kamara, has pleaded guilty to a charge of larceny involving property belonging to the United Methodist Church.
Kamara made his first appearance before Principal Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah of Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 1 in Freetown and was arraigned on one count of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the prosecution, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, Kamara allegedly broke into and entered the United Methodist Church’s material store at Dwazark, Freetown, where he allegedly stole one shovel valued at Le200, 25 bags of imported cement valued at Le205 each and six lengths of iron valued at Le208 each.
The total value of the alleged stolen items was put at Le7, 005. The items are said to be the property of the United Methodist Church and were in the custody of Issa Kargbo.
When the charge was read and explained to him, Kamara pleaded guilty. He was not legally represented.
Following his plea, Magistrate Jah adjourned the matter to September 14, 2026, for records and sentencing.
The matter was prosecuted by Police Prosecutor Linde Teh, attached to the Sierra Leone Police, with force number 18456.
