The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially commenced the third batch of the CAF C Diploma Coaching Course at the SLFA Secretariat in Freetown.
The coaching development programme forms part of the SLFA’s continued efforts to strengthen the technical capacity of coaches across the country and develop a new generation of qualified football professionals.
This marks the third time the SLFA has organised the CAF C Diploma Course, providing local coaches with an opportunity to improve their knowledge, skills and coaching competencies in line with Confederation of African Football (CAF) standards.
The 120-hour course will run for three months and combine theoretical lessons, practical training sessions and internship programmes. These activities are designed to equip participating coaches with the knowledge and tools needed to improve their coaching abilities and advance their professional careers.
The SLFA has also confirmed that the CAF B Diploma Coaching Course is expected to commence next month, further demonstrating the Association’s commitment to continuous coach education and technical development.
Through its Technical Department, the SLFA continues to pursue its vision of “Building Better Coaches, Building Better Football” by strengthening the foundation of the game and supporting player development for local competitions and future national team programmes.
Two months ago, the Technical Department successfully concluded D Licence coaching programmes across the country. The commencement of the third batch of the CAF C Diploma Course further reflects the SLFA’s commitment to building coaching capacity and supporting CAF’s directive for member associations across Africa to invest in coach development.
