The official draw for the WAFU Zone A Qualifiers of the CAF Women’s Champions League will take place on Thursday, 6th August 2026 at 15:00 GMT in Banjul, The Gambia.
Sierra Leone’s Women’s Premier League champions Mogbwemo Queens will be among six national title holders competing for a single ticket to the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League final tournament. The draw will determine the match schedule for the zonal qualifying competition, which is expected to be staged in The Gambia.
WAFU Zone A organizes an annual qualifying tournament whose winner represents the zone at the continental finals. With six teams involved, the competition is expected to follow the familiar single-group round-robin format used in recent editions, with every side playing each other once. The team that finishes top of the table will advance.
Mogbwemo Queens returned to the WAFU Zone A stage with growing experience. The Sierra Leonean champions finished as runners-up in the 2024 edition and will once again aim to go one step further and secure the zone’s sole qualifying berth.
Mogbwemo Queens FC have started preparations early last to get tactics right as well systems right, on that backdrop head Coach Adama Pele Suma requested Management to help her with lot of foreign base players as the Champions of Sierra Leone intensifies preparations for the CAF Champions League Qualifiers.
