Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL) held its 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, 28th March 2026, at the FBC Multi-Purpose Hall in Freetown, marking the culmination of a highly successful first term under the leadership of Board Chairman Francis Trevor Samura.

The AGM, conducted in accordance with Article 18.1–13 of the company’s constitution, serves as a key platform for good governance and accountability, allowing the Board and management of CSL to report to the Members’ Council on the activities and achievements of the past year.

The event was graced by representatives from the Ministry of Sports (MOS), National Sports Authority (NSA), and the National Olympic Committee (NOC).

Ahmed Khanou, NOC Scribe, praised CSL’s Board and management for their consistent reporting through the AGM process, affirming that the NOC will continue supporting cricket’s development in Sierra Leone.

Mustapha Haroun Korjie, Director of Sports at MOS, encouraged the Board to expand its efforts to promote cricket in schools, where young talent can be identified and nurtured.

NSA’s Director of Participation and Sustainable Sports, Steven Kaifala, commended CSL for its display of good governance. “This year, the NSA has prioritized supporting domestic leagues conducted by high-performing sporting disciplines. This initiative aims to create job opportunities for players. We will monitor how these leagues are executed,” he said.

The highlights of the AGM were the report of CSL Board Chairman Francis Trevor Samura and the financial statement for 2025, presented by CSL Finance Manager. Both reports were adopted by the Members’ Council after members made key suggestions and observations.

During the AGM, five new clubs were co-opted into CSL: Dun Dee Cricket Club, Vikings Cricket Club, Vintage Cricket Club, Golden Eagles Cricket Club, and Haryana Tigers Cricket Club.

Delegates also approved a change in the company’s auditing firm, replacing Bun Tejan Doherty & Co Chartered Accountants with Moore Sierra Leone. This decision marked the conclusion of the day’s proceedings
