John Bike appeared before Magistrate Mary Julia Gbloh at Pademba Road Court No. 5 on charges of fraudulent conversion and larceny.
The accused faced a two-count indictment including Fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20(1)(iv) of the Larceny Act of 1916.Larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the indictment, in January 2025 at Wilkinson Road, Freetown, John Bike allegedly fraudulently converted a Yamaha motorbike valued at One Hundred Thousand New Leones (NLe 100,000), entrusted to him by Khalil Kamara for maintenance, for his own use or benefit.
On the same date and at the same location, he allegedly stole the same motorbike as a bailee, which was the property of Khalil Kamara.
When the charges were read, John Bike pleaded guilty to Count One (fraudulent conversion) but not guilty to Count Two (larceny).
Magistrate Gbloh remanded the accused to the Male Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to 27th March 2026 for further hearing.
