Ishmael Koroma has made another appearance before Magistrate Mary Julia Gbloh at Pademba Road Court No. 5 on a three-count charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, wounding with intent, and assault.

The charges are brought under Sections 18 and 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.

According to the indictment, the alleged offences occurred on 27 February 2026 at Kroo Bay, Freetown. On count one, the defendant is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to Saidu Kamara with intent to inflict serious harm.

Counts two and three further allege that, on the same date and location, Koroma maliciously wounded and assaulted the complainant, causing actual bodily harm.

When the charges were read and explained in court, no plea was taken.

During the proceedings, defence counsel informed the court that both the accused and the complainant were willing to explore an out-of-court settlement. In response, Magistrate Gbloh asked the complainant to confirm his position, and he indicated his willingness to settle the matter.

However, the Magistrate cautioned the complainant about the seriousness of the allegations and granted a short adjournment to allow him to reconsider his decision.

Magistrate Gbloh subsequently ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to 30 March 2026 for further hearing.

The matter is being prosecuted by Police Prosecutor Sergeant 9906 Umu Jalloh.
