His Excellency Julius Maada Bio travelled to Conakry to join fellow Heads of State of the Mano River Union for a high-level meeting focused on reaffirming commitments to peaceful coexistence, respect for national sovereignty, and strengthened cooperation on border security.

The meeting brought together President Bio of Sierra Leone, President Joseph Boakai of Liberia, and President Mamady Doumbouya of Guinea. The leaders held constructive discussions aimed at addressing subregional concerns, particularly issues related to border stability.

During the meeting, the leaders emphasized dialogue and good neighbourliness as the most appropriate means of managing differences and preventing conflict escalation.
