The Kings and Queens Foundation, in partnership with Themne for All, on Saturday, 14 March 2026, donated food items to more than 1,000 beneficiaries at the Waterloo Central Mosque as part of a charity initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable communities during the holy periods of Ramadan and Lent.

Project Manager of Kings and Queens Foundation, Unisa Mansaray, said the charity initiative was organized in memory of the late Mr. Bangura and formed part of the foundation’s efforts to assist the less privileged, disadvantaged, and marginalized members of society.

Mansaray explained that the initiative also provided an opportunity for members of the organization to reflect on their progress in life while extending support to those in need. He emphasized that acts of charity toward vulnerable people are essential and encouraged individuals to seek God’s guidance while helping others.

According to him, the charity event also served as a moment of prayer for their late parents who had contributed to the construction of the Waterloo Central Mosque.

Mansaray commended the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Tina Bangura, for her continued commitment to charitable activities, noting that she has consistently supported vulnerable people every year.

He further stated that the timing of the donation during the last ten days of Ramadan and the Christian Lenten season was particularly significant, describing it as a blessing for both faith communities.

Mansaray disclosed that while about 500 beneficiaries received support last year, the number had increased to approximately 1,000 this year. He explained that the donated items included rice, onions, sugar, and tomatoes, which were distributed to residents in rural communities, particularly in Waterloo.

He also called on other philanthropists and organizations to support initiatives that assist disadvantaged people in rural areas.

Mansaray estimated that between sixty and seventy thousand Leones had been spent on the initiative and expressed gratitude to the foundation’s CEO for making the charity possible. He added that the organization intends to expand its support beyond the Waterloo Central Mosque once additional resources become available.

He further revealed plans to establish Kings and Queens Foundation training centres aimed at empowering less privileged individuals through skills development. According to him, the donation has made a significant impact, bringing relief and smiles to people who struggle to afford basic food items.

Meanwhile, the Organizing Secretary of Themne for All, Almamy Mohamed Bangura, congratulated and thanked participants for supporting the charity event.

Bangura acknowledged that the organization was informed about the event at short notice but said members still turned out in large numbers to offer their support. He also revealed that the founder of Kings and Queens Foundation is also the founder of Themne for All, describing her as a committed leader who is passionate about helping people succeed.

Bangura stressed that charity does not require wealth, noting that individuals can support others regardless of personal relationships. “You don’t need to be rich to give to someone, and the person does not have to be your biological brother or sister,” he said.

He clarified that Themne for All is only a slogan and does not mean the organization serves only people from the Themne ethnic group.

Bangura concluded by explaining that the organization is also involved in mental health support services, including daily counselling sessions conducted through live broadcasts on TikTok to assist people facing psychological challenges.
