East End Lions Football Club celebrated their first back-to-back victories of the 2025/2026 Leone Rock Premier League season.
A standout performance from Kwame Quee, who scored two goals in his debut, propelled the team to a crucial win against Kamboi Eagles FC.
The match opened with both teams displaying energetic play, but East End Lions dominated possession in the attacking third. Quee found the net first from the penalty spot after a foul on his teammate in jersey number 17. He later doubled the lead with a swift counterattack, converting a well-placed pass into the back of the net to put his team ahead 2-0 in the second half.
Kamboi Eagles FC responded with a goal from Idrissa Kallon, wearing jersey 77, who found the net just five minutes after East End Lions took the lead, reigniting hope for the Eagles.
After the match, Kwame Quee expressed his joy at scoring twice in his debut, emphasizing the importance of these goals for a club that has struggled with scoring in recent games. He urged fans to rally behind the team as they aim for a successful campaign.
Kamboi Eagles FC head coach Alfred Pious expressed disappointment in the match’s outcome, citing officiating as a significant factor in their defeat. Meanwhile, East End Lions FC head coach Abdul Bangura described the victory as vital for a team that had a rocky start to the season. He reassured fans that the club is working diligently to return to their competitive form in the league and encouraged patience as the team strives for success.
East End Lions FC will face Bullum Star FC in their next match, a team fresh off a victory in their last game.
