Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, turned an official trip into moments of genuine community connection during his stopovers en route to Mattru Jong on Saturday, 21 February 2026.

Rather than simply passing through, the Vice President stepped out to engage directly with residents, reinforcing his reputation for grassroots leadership and personal outreach.

His first brief stop was at Luawa Community in Bonthe District, where he interacted warmly with residents, including women and children who gathered eagerly to welcome him. Smiling and exchanging pleasantries, he encouraged them to remain committed to peace and national stability.

Observers noted the excitement among the children, many of whom waved enthusiastically as the Vice President addressed them. For the women in the community, the interaction felt especially meaningful, as he listened attentively to their concerns and reassured them of the government’s commitment to inclusive development.

Dr. Jalloh made another stop at Abacha in Mattru Jong, where he met with market women who were visibly delighted by his presence. The bustling marketplace briefly slowed as traders gathered around to express their appreciation for the visit. Their cheers and warm reception underscored the connection between national leadership and local communities.

Throughout the stopovers, the Vice President remained calm, approachable, and attentive.

By stepping into communities and marketplaces along his route, he transformed routine travel into meaningful engagement leaving behind smiles, renewed hope, and a reinforced message of peace and unity.
